On-Site Japanese Knotweed Relocation

The advantage of on-site Japanese Knotweed relocation over off-site Japanese Knotweed removal offsite is that it is environmentally friendly, cost effective and quick to implement.

Onsite knotweed relocation is ideal where space allows and enables site development to continue in an area once inhabited with Japanese Knotweed.

On-site Japanese Knotweed relocation generally requires the creation of a bund (soil mound) using Knotweed contaminated material. The position, shape and size of the bund needs to be considered prior to starting work. A Japanese Knotweed bund can be permanent or temporary. Once created a treatment program needs to be implemented to control the Japanese Knotweed. At PBA Solutions we can implement excelerated treatment programmes to enable the bund material to be re used. 

At PBA Solutions we recommend that bund design is considered early on in a development to ensure that a suitable location & design is found.  Consideration should also be given to long term management.
On-site Japanese Knotweed relocation and the use of Knotweed Bunds is a positive factor in Site Waste Management.  Bund treatment of Knotweed effectively retains the Knotweed waste on-site diverting it from landfill.
